Béguelin SA: Precision and renaissance

Precision machining in Les Brenets: CNC machines modified in-house enable Béguelin SA to produce complex parts with great responsiveness.

As both a partner supplier and customer of Brütsch/Rüegger Tools, Béguelin SA embodies a renaissance of industry and humanity.

Founded 80 years ago and long based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Béguelin brand had gradually lost momentum. Taken over three years ago by Stéphane Mougin and his cousin Adam Djela, the company has found new life in Les Brenets (NE), fuelled by team spirit and extensive expertise. Housed in a modernised building, Béguelin, BBHG SA and Gilbert Petit-Jean SA combine machining, watch finishing and assembly to offer a complete value chain, from design to casing. Stéphane Mougin emphasises: “It's not size that makes the difference, but the ability to remain agile. At our company, every project is treated as if it were unique.”

From design to assembly: integrated precision

An engineer by training, Stéphane Mougin spent more than twenty years in fine watchmaking (Richemont, LVMH, Kering). Together with his cousin, also an engineer, he decided to relaunch an iconic Swiss brand. Today, around fifteen employees design and machine high-precision tools and components for the watchmaking and jewellery industry.

In the workshops, Haas and Fanuc CNC machines are adapted in-house to increase speed and stability. The company works with steel, stainless steel and aluminium, as well as complex materials such as gold, platinum, sapphire and composites.

In the BBHG SA workshops, craftsmen combine meticulousness and expertise to manufacture high-precision watch and jewellery components.

Three engineers are responsible for 3D design, CNC programming and quality control, ensuring the responsiveness and precision of the process. This organisation reflects the group's key values: versatility, useful innovation and local service. Sustainability also has its place, with optimised processes and responsible production, without fanfare but with conviction.

An inspiring customer relationship

Brütsch/Rüegger Tools plays a dual role in this relaunch: as a leading supplier and a visibility partner. ‘We are proud to present long-standing and innovative partners such as Béguelin. Their expertise perfectly complements our offering and allows our customers to benefit from differentiated solutions,’ emphasises Loïc Châtelain, Head of business unit Watch Industry, Brütsch/Rüegger Tools.

In the workshops of Béguelin SA, the cutting tools, fastening systems and measuring instruments supplied by Brütsch/Rüegger Tools are part of everyday life. This technical proximity facilitates the development of prototypes and speeds up the manufacture of small series. "Whether as a customer or a supplier, we share the same standards of quality and responsiveness with Brütsch/Rüegger Tools,” adds Stéphane Mougin. A reciprocal relationship based on trust, high standards and a mutual understanding of the needs on the ground.

Each part is visually inspected before delivery: a guarantee of reliability and quality for the customers of the three companies in the group.

A shared signature: high standards and agility

Combining heritage and innovation, Béguelin SA has established itself as a comprehensive and agile partner, capable of combining Swiss precision, technological openness and responsiveness. With the support of Brütsch/Rüegger Tools, the company is embarking on a long-term recovery, driven by shared high standards and mutual trust.

The Les Brenets site (NE), surrounded by nature and light, is home to the modernised workshops of Béguelin SA, BBHG SA and Gilbert Petit-Jean SA.

“Whether as a customer or a supplier, we share the same standards of quality and responsiveness with Brütsch/Rüegger Tools.”
