But anyone who exports tools—to equip a subsidiary abroad, for example—will quickly face a number of challenges. Benjamin Wandeler, Team Leader International Sales, explains: "Many companies initially underestimate how complex exporting tools can be." For example, when shipping to destinations in different climate zones, standard packaging is often insufficient. This is because temperature, humidity and storage conditions can damage the goods. The correct declaration of goods is also essential: Invoices and special regulations, such as for batteries, must be observed. Incorrect information will cause delays and high costs. Complex customs formalities and export software also take up valuable resources and require training.
Brütsch/Rüegger Tools provides a remedy for this with a digital export solution. This generates all the required documents, communicates electronically with customs authorities and logistics partners and makes processes more transparent. According to Benjamin Wandeler, this makes processing significantly simpler. "And working quickly always pays off," says the Team Leader. "Through this solution, even our customers who deal with smaller volumes and do not want to set up a specific department can export safely, quickly and competitively."
One company that makes great use of these export services is Endress+Hauser Flow, which operates worldwide.
The partner for the perfect flow
What do companies in the food industry, the water and wastewater sector and the chemicals sector have in common? In all of these operations, liquids and gases are moved — sometimes in high quantities, sometimes in very small doses. This is where Endress+Hauser Flow gets to shine by ensuring maximum precision at all times during measurement: The company, which has roots in Reinach, has earned a leading position among manufacturers of industrial flow meters for liquids, gases and steam over the past 47 years.
Project engineer and manager Mark Wüthrich plays a central role at Endress+Hauser Flow. He is responsible for the comprehensive overhaul of its calibration systems. These special solutions are used to precisely calibrate the measuring devices before they are delivered to the customer.
Remedying the signs of age
Mark Wüthrich also takes charge when wear is detected in calibration systems. "The oldest of our installed systems is already 22 years old," explains the project manager. To prevent unforeseen failures or measurement deviations, Wüthrich works on overhauling the systems. For this purpose, he leads a team of specialists from India around the globe. Together they visit Endress+Hauser production facilities all over the world and carry out complete overhauls where necessary.
This is precisely where the high-quality tools from Brütsch/Rüegger Tools, along with the export services, are needed. Fast and agile processing is another benefit of this collaboration. The overhaul by Wüthrich's on-site team takes between six and eight weeks to complete. All components showing wear are replaced, the system is put into operation and metrological validation is carried out. The system then has a renewed service life of a solid 15 years.
