Exciting events with Brütsch/Rüegger Tools and Sauber Motorsport

Exciting insights into Formula 1 and the future of workplace design
The seminar participants eagerly tried their hand at changing the wheels of a Formula 1 car and experienced the challenge and thrill of a pit stop.

Admittedly, a Formula 1 team and a leading tool supplier do not seem to have much in common at first glance. However, a closer look reveals that these two sectors are both shaped by a clear piece of common ground, thereby making Sauber Motorsport and Brütsch/Rüegger Tools an almost perfect match. "In both companies, precision and speed are the most valued assets", explains Andreas Trefz, Head of Assembly Technology at Brütsch/Rüegger Tools. That is why it is only logical to organise a special kind of professional event: On 24 September this year, the "ToolForum — Pole position in workplace design" event will take place at the Sauber Motorsport premises in Hinwil (more information can be found in the grey info box).

The exclusive tour of the Sauber Motorsport premises in the afternoon offers all participants the unique opportunity to look behind the scenes of the racing team and to experience and discover first hand what goes on in the background to ensure that the racing cars are ready for the next Grand Prix. You will quickly discover how important precision and speed are in the "premier class" of racing: Everything must be exactly right, as every little part, every action and every decision can make the difference between victory and defeat. This experience is not only fascinating, but also instructive and inspiring for your own professional work.

Learn how to minimise downtimes

Another highlight on the Brütsch/Rüegger Tools events calendar for this year is the SMED seminar on 29 August. Here we will explore the SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) principle — a LEAN method that significantly reduces production downtimes through efficient, lean processes and standardised workflows. This is important because increasing expectations regarding flexibility are forcing companies to make smaller production and assembly batches. To maintain high productivity levels, an efficient conversion strategy is needed. During the SMED seminar, the participants will learn about methods, procedures and technical aids for reducing downtimes in order to be able to implement and apply them in their own company. The event starts at the Brütsch/Rüegger Tools headquarters in Urdorf, Switzerland, then the seminar moves to Hinwil in the afternoon, where participants will find out what goes on behind the scenes at the Sauber Motorsport racing team.
